Elephantine Bakery

Elephantine Bakery is a newcomer on the downtown scene.  A tiny shop hiding at 10 Commercial Alley, this intriguing storefront with it's apres ski sidewalk display has captured the curiosity of many a wandering coffee connoisseur searching for a new place to call home since the closing of Breaking New Grounds.  Like those others I found my way there one morning.  As I suspected would be the case the drip brew on offer was a french roast, my only sticking point. The Almond Croissant was the best I've had in the area and the dark roast was actually enjoyable.  An authentic french baking house.  The seating area is small and not as convenient for meeting with friends but when the good weather returns those outside tables will be full.
